Stephen Newton Survey

Stephen Newton’s practice as a sculptor is inspired by wood and the weathering effects of nature. time and the elements: Stephen Newton - a survey highlights sculptures in wood made by the artist over the last 15 years. Sourced from public and private collections, the sculptures were created on Newtons 40 acre property at Dayboro. Over the past 25 years Newton has produced a prolific body of sculptural forms rich in symbolic meaning. His practice encompasses studio work, environmental installations, public realm sculpture commissions and collaborative projects throughout city, regional and remote areas of Australia. The exhibition opens runs from the 23 February until the 20 April at the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery, Caboolture Hub, 4 Hasking Street, Caboolture. Time and the Elements is accompanied by a full colour catalogue with an introductory essay by Louise-Martin Chew, published by artHIVES.
