Adrienne Williams wins Residency in the USA

Adrienne Williams is one of two Wide Bay artists chosen to undertake an Artist in Residence opportunity in New Mexico, USA, later this year. The residency is part of the larger project Wide Bay High Desert II where 6 Wide Bay artists and 6 New Mexican artists will exhibit artworks in each other’s regions and spend the year sharing their techniques and work practices on a communal Blog.

The project is coordinated by the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) and the Unsettled Gallery in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and the Residency is part funded through the Regional Arts Development Fund.

The Wide Bay High Desert II exhibition opens in both countries on 28 August 2015 and Adrienne will complete her residency in September and October. You can follow the 12 artists and watch their works develop here.

Adrienne’s current works explore a hillside of Grass Trees for an exhibition at Red Hill Gallery in July.
