International Women's Day feature in The Independent

Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox's 2009 painting She was not made out of his head to surpass him, nor from his feet to be trampled on, but from his side to be equal to him, and near his heart to be dear to him. [Quote: Jamieson-Fausset Brown Bible Commentary]  was the main visual feature on the UK's The Independent newspaper's 7 March 2015 special International Women's Day supplement.

The title of the work was taken from a quote which inspired Brimblecombe-Fox's painting. "I wanted to create an image which clearly 'spoke' of the story of Adam and Eve but also embraced the sentiment of the quote, which I believe deals fundamentally with the male and female relationship, plus more deeply delves into the question of opposites and duality. There is no indication of either sex being better than the other, yet they are not the same".
