Nicola Moss residency and upcoming show

For four weeks in October and November 2014, Nicola Moss participated in the Grafton Regional Gallery Artist in Residence Program. The residency provided a thought provoking and rewarding experience coinciding with the 80th Anniversary of the Grafton Jacaranda Festival. For Moss, the curated environment of Grafton revealed many ideas of identity, community participation, ecology and heritage. Works in the studio developed through plein-air studies, hand cut paper works and photo documentation. Nicola will continue to update her website with completed works. The Artist in Residence Program is generously supported by Grafton Regional Gallery, with funding provided from Arts NSW.

Three of Nicola's new hand cut paperworks will be on show as part of the group exhibition Collectibles IV at Spiro Grace Art Rooms, 255 Gregory Terrace, Spring Hill, Brisbane. Themes of city and nature are evident in the works, incorporating inspiration from Nicola's travel to Japan this year where she aquired some beautiful papers. The exhibition opens on Friday 5th December, 6-8pm, and continues till Sunday 7th December 2014.
