Susan Buret a year of exhibitions

Susan Buret has had a busy year with four solo and several group exhibitions. After returning from her residency at Cortijada Los Gasquez in Spain, in late 2013 Buret finished work on Navigating by the Stars her first solo exhibition in 2014 at the Photomedia Space at The Australian National University School of Art.

Anthony Bennett a Moran Finalist

Anthony Bennett is a finalist in the Moran Prize 2014 with a portrait of Chris O'Doherty (aka Reg Mombassa) 'study for a portrait of reg' 170cm x 170cm mixed media on canvas 2013. The exhibition of finalists runs until 15 Feb 2015 at Juniper Hall 250 Oxford Street, Paddington in Sydney.

Yvonne Mills-Stanley GRASS

On 7th August till 31st August 2014 Yvonne Mills-Stanley held a successful exhibiton titled GRASS of her paintings in a solo show at Rebecca Hossack Gallery, London. Grass Memories III oil on canvas 91 x 91cm was one of the paintings included in the exhibition.

Mollie Bosworth Exhibitions and Awards

Mollie Bosworth, ceramic artist from north Queensland has had a busy year culminating in her participation in the group exhibition SUB-0 THE AFFORDABLE ART SHOW currently on at the Tanks Art Centre, 46 Collins Avenue, Edge Hill Cairns until the 21st December. 'A Paris Sketchbook': Painting in Paris

David Henderson will be teaching a watercolour workshop in Paris for Australians Studying Abroad next year from 11 - 20 May. The programme will combine a series of outdoor painting sessions in and around Paris with visits to museums and galleries. It will also include visits to places associated with painters such as Van Gogh, Cézanne and Monet as well as the opportunity to meet and work alongside local artists.

Nicola Moss residency and upcoming show

For four weeks in October and November 2014, Nicola Moss participated in the Grafton Regional Gallery Artist in Residence Program. The residency provided a thought provoking and rewarding experience coinciding with the 80th Anniversary of the Grafton Jacaranda Festival. For Moss, the curated environment of Grafton revealed many ideas of identity, community participation, ecology and heritage. Works in the studio developed through plein-air studies, hand cut paper works and photo documentation. Nicola will continue to update her website with completed works.

Adrienne Williams' new site in sight

After participating in 5 shows throughout 2013—including an artist and artworks exchange in New Mexico, USA—this year has been a quiet studio year for Adrienne Williams with a couple of large commissioned pieces and gently exploring a new site for sketching and for a new series. A large hillside near Monto of enormous grass trees, with a bottle tree ridgeline above them, has been the latest play ground for Adrienne, who sketches plein air at the beginning and throughout a new series.

Kym Barrett successful 2014

Kym Barrett has been on a winning streak lately. In September, Kym's work Will you join in the Cosmic Dance? was deemed the WINNER of the $17,500 acquisitive Kenilworth Painting Prize, from fourteen other finalists from all over Australia.

Roger Lane By Hand and Heart

A new series of still life paintings as well as existing works by Roger Lane will be part of the By Hand and Heart exhibition at the Art Nuvo Gallery in Buderim. The exhibition is a showcase of various artworks by local Queensland artists. As well as paintings, glassworks and ceramics will also be exhibited. Other artists Include: Shannon Garson, Kendall, Clairy Laurence, Cass Deller, Amie Eberhardt, Carol Forster, Wendy Raleigh The exhibition will run from 22nd November through to 20th December. Jennifer Long - On the Edge

In Jennifer Long’s most recent solo exhibition On the Edge at the Percolator Gallery, Paddington (23 Sept-6 Oct 2014) she presented a series of hybrid mixed media works - collage and oil on ply, rice paper bowls, etchings, lithographs, woodcuts and solvent transfers, where graphic and painterly styles combined in a new and contemporary manner. Using a range of repeated idiosyncratic symbols(in particular the vessel as a recurring emblem), she created her own personal landscape. The exhibition was opened by printmaker Gwenn Tasker.

Anita West's successful year

Anita West's solo exhibition Bush, Land, Beach held annually at TVH gallery in Sydney was a huge success with a near-sell out show and a number of major commissions accepted. 2014 has been an exciting year with 7 entries into major competitions becoming finalists and two wins in the People's Choice Awards. A new direction in landscape has emerged with a new studio location and a growing arts practice.
