John Flitcroft at Doggett Street Studio

John Flitcroft's new exhibition - 146 days... - at Doggett Street Studio (85 Doggett Street, Newstead, Qld. Ph: 07 3252 9292) opens on 29 July and runs to 20 August. The works depict realistic, detailed works in ink on canvas, and commencing this August, in conjunction with Jon Linkins Printroom Editions, various works of John Flitcroft will be available as limited edition print reproductions.

Kym Barrett at Gympie in September

Kym Barrett's latest exhibition - Traces of Place - at Gympie Regional Gallery (Nash Street, Gympie, Qld. Ph: 07 5481 0733) opens on Saturday 10 September (and runs to 1 October). Kym’s semi-abstract paintings on canvas and card loosely connect both outer landscape elements and a personal inner landscape.

Jasmine Cannon - Urban Lives, Urban Fabric

Jasmine Cannon's first exhibition - Urban Lives, Urban Fabric - is on now at Doggett Street Studio (85 Doggett Street, Newstead, Qld. Ph: 07 3252 9292) until 22 October, 2011. The exhibition explores the sense of place that is Fortitude Valley, Brisbane as it is evoked through the effect of people and time on the built form in that area.

Anne Lord - August Movement

Sherron Dalziel - Roomscapes

Sherron Dalziel’s latest exhibition - Roomscapes - is on show from 3-12 November at The Graydon Gallery (29 Merthyr Road New Farm, Qld) with the opening on Friday 4 November (6-8pm). Collage and mixed media come together in these intricate interiors.

Meredith Gaston at Art2Muse Gallery

You can view Meredith Gaston’s whimsical paintings at her latest exhibition at Art2Muse Gallery (475A New South Head Road, Double Bay, Sydney) which runs 25 October - 7 November. Her work has been featured in magazines such as Harpers Bazaar, Luna and Vogue Living. Meredith is currently writing her third book and enjoying her new studio in the Blue Mountains.

Des Rolph - Ride the Wind

Des Rolph's exhibition - Ride the Wind - is now on show at The Gallery Eumundi (1 Gridley Rd, Eumundi, Qld. T: 07 5442 8365) until 16 October, 2011. The official opening is Saturday 10 September (6pm). This exhibition explores a new series of ethereal work about the wind and how it moulds and shapes the landscape.

New Roger Lane exhibition

Anita West - Salt, Sand & Spinifex

Anita West is having her fourth solo exhibition at Trevor Victor Harvey Gallery opening in Sydney on 16 September. All of the paintings are landscapes inspired by a recent trip out to Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Elizabeth Shaw at Artisan

Elizabeth Shaw is one of 100 Australian contemporary jewellers selected to create a brooch for the exhibition Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor. The exhibition is curated by Kirsten Fitzpatrick and will open at Artisan (381 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley, Qld. P: 07 3215 0808) from 29 September to 12 November.

Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox - Paradise

Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox’s exhibition - Paradise - opens Friday 9 September (6-8 pm) at Purgatory Artspace (170 Abbotsford St, North Melbourne, Vic. Ph: 03 9329 1860) and runs to 8 October. Kathryn is also a finalist in the Tattersall’s Landscape Art Prize with the exhibition open to the public at Waterfront Place (1 Eagle St, Brisbane, Qld) from 12 to 23 September.

Epicurious in Melbourne

Margaret Genever, Laurel McKenzie and Sasi Victoire are taking their joint show - Epicurious - an exhibition of prints and mixed media works which celebrate food, eating and the social rituals surrounding food in the torrid zone, to Melbourne. The exhibition opens at Stephen McLaughlan Gallery (Level 8, Room 16, Nicholas building, 37 Swanston Street, Melbourne, Vic) on 27 September and continues to 15 October.

Mike Chavez Belle showcase

Mike Chavez is exhibiting at Ian Dawson Gallery (443 Oxford Street, Paddington, NSW) until 10 September. The exhibition is a special showcase for BELLE magazine.

Nicola Moss exhibition at SGAR

Nicola Moss's upcoming exhibition - Site Lines - features hand cut paperworks inspired during site visits to coastal environments of Moreton Bay Islands. Signature elements of ochre stained, charcoal rubbed and sand burnished papers incorporate textures of place in the layered artworks. Opening on Friday 26 August at SGAR: Spiro Grace Art Rooms (255 Gregory Terrace, Spring Hill. Ph: 07 3839 8925). The show continues to Saturday 17 September.

David Henderson at Graydon Gallery

An exhibition of recent paintings, drawings and watercolours by David Henderson opens at Graydon Gallery (29 Merthyr Road New Farm, Qld) on Friday 26 August. Subject matter includes Venice, Istanbul, the nude and interiors. The show then continues to 4 September.

Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox at Purgatory

Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox’s solo exhibition - Paradise - opens at Purgatory Artspace (First Floor, 170 Abbotsford St, North Melbourne, Vic. Ph: 03 9329 1860) on 9 September (6-8pm) and runs to 8 October. Kathryn has also been invited to participate in the Tattersall’s Landscape Art Prize (announced 7 September) at the Tattersall’s Club.

Sue Beyer's first solo exhibition

Sue Beyer's first solo exhibition - 'We'll eat up at the lodge' - opens at the Art Factory Gallery (84 Merivale St, South Brisbane, Qld) on Friday 26 August (6-8pm). The exhibition continues until 30 August

Susan Buret in Paper Trails

Susan Buret's work East West is included in Paper Trails at Art Piece Gallery (70 Burrinbar Street, Mullumbimby, NSW). The exhibition coincides with the Byron Bay Writer's Festival and continues until 21 August.

Aria Stone raising funds for partner

Aria Stone is currently raising funds to help her partner, Tony Dibley, who is dealing with an illness of advanced lung cancer. Funds raised will go towards acupuncture treatments which have had remarkable results. Aria is having an online exhibition and sale of her works on paper series - Corridors.

Regina Dolan Solo Exhibition

Regina Dolan's exhibition "Contemplation People in Places & Spaces" opens at Percolator Gallery (134 Latrobe Terrace, Paddingtion, Qld) on Thursday 1 September and continues until 12 September 2011.

Sally L'Estrange Puffy Pictures

You can still catch Sally L'Estrange's exhibition of Puffy Pictures at Doggett Street Studio (85 Doggett Street, Newstead, Qld) until 20 August. These organic three dimensional works are oil and acrylic paintings on Sikaboom building foam.

"These works take the viewer into the secret world of the remnant rainforest, a forgotten place where the giant trees preside over the comings and goings on the forest floor. Such wonders which the wandering artist and her canine companions encounter, are revealed along these tracks less travelled."
